Giant pandas are not only known for being incredibly cute, but also for eating bamboo alone. A panda eats around 15 kilos of bamboo every day. They spend a large part of the day eating bamboo, but when they do not eat, they rest and poop. A panda can poop up to 100 times a day. The reason they poop so often is that pandas do not pandan’s stomach does not melt bamboo very well, which means that the bamboo’s path through the pandan is fast.
When a panda mother gives birth to a panda baby, the baby is very small and helpless compared to other bear animals. This is because pandas only eat bamboo which is not a very varied diet and hence does not provide good nutrition to the fetus. Therefore, pandas must be very careful with their babies when they are newborn.
